This painting is part of my series of works of the South Island. Walter Peak Station is a sheep station a boat ride away from Queenstown, New Zealand.
It is a fave of my family’s, we have visited here a couple of times when in Queenstown, which is one of our favourite holiday destinations.
This part of NZ offers breathtaking scenery and reminds me of a little slice of the Swiss Alps.
In the background of this piece is the TSS Earnslaw a historic steam boat, which makes its way from Queenstown across Lake Wakatipu to the sheep station and back again.
