This is the first in my two piece collection Majestic Tui.

I have a deep connection with the Tui, possibly stemming from its symbolism and presence in New Zealand’s natural world.

The Tui is a bird rich in cultural and environmental significance, known for its iridescent feathers and melodious call. Painting the Tui symbolises my appreciation for nature’s beauty and this bird’s uniqueness.

Each time I paint this native bird I like to show it from different angles and in different contemporary styles.
